Commentaires: I loved Emotive at the start. While there were feature updates that were (and still are) desperately needed (e.g. keyword trigger, better analytics, better subscriber profile data, etc), their service was top notch. Now, with the cost-savings move of removing the CSM team, they are just an overpriced version of many other SMS marketing tools. We're going to be reaching out to other providers we tested in the sales process to consider switching. Why pay more for the same service? The access to a dedicated support team was a huge benefit, but was removed under the guise of "new benefits" That being said, the ROI has been great. But we can achieve similar results with another, lower cost provider that follows through on promises made in the sales cycle.

Avantages:

Relatively easy to set up, configures with Wisepops (although it seems that are going to be doing away with that benefit, too). Great ROI return

Inconvénients:

Was a huge fan of their included resources - a dedicated CSM & copywriter. However, they announced that those are gone and customers no longer have access to any personalized resources. Instead they have a "strategy team" which is a faceless group of people who you can contact via a Zendesk form. They also have webinars to replace the CSM relationship, but in my experience, these have not been valuable to our brand (almost entirely just heavy sales tricks - not community building ideas)

Get Everything In Writing

I cannot in good conscience provide any positive outlook as their customer service and billing practices overshadow anything good.

Inconvénients:

First of all, they bill on a quarterly basis, which for a small business is a lot of money to commit up front. the reason for this negative review (which I have never previously taken the time to do for any company).... We consolidated our sms with our email partner (Klaviyo) to both save money and eliminate duplicating efforts. I had a conversation with one of their reps, [SENSITIVE CONTENT], prior to the final quarterly billing to see if they would accommodate our desire to cut our Emotive ties since we had moved sms to Klaviyo. Over what seemed to be a very gracious and fruitful conversation, he confirmed that he would accommodate our request and that we would no longer be billed. I took him on his word and failed (my bad) to follow up in writing. They, of course, since they had a credit card on file with them, charged me the $1,200 for the next quarter. When I reached out to [SENSITIVE CONTENT] to rectify the situation, he said that we never discussed this and to refer to the email he sent (which doesn't exist - I had cc'd support at Emotive so he was doing his best CMA dance). And repeated follow-ups with customer service were futile, and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has since ghosted me, never returning another email. He is a chiseler. If you do decide to work with them, my advice: don't sign a long-term agreement and make sure you get everything in writing. You're dealing with a duplicitous organization.

Commentaires: Emotive is awesome. If you are looking to add to your current marketing stack do not hesitate with Emotive SMS. Their customer service, integration, and overall experience had been awesome. Not to mention our ROI is off the charts.

Avantages:

We use WooCommerce as our e-commerce platform. Most of the other SMS tools do fine with Shopify but don’t play nice with WC. We were looking for tools to support abandoned carts keywords, and broadcasting. The things I love the most about Emotive are the keyword growth tools and broadcasts. The keywords not only allow you to segment customers and leads by keywords that you can associate with behaviors/products, but it also lets you create links that you can put into places like Instagram, Facebook, and emails. The broadcasts are amazing because you can create campaigns that show the results of each broadcast. Very cool. One last thing I want to mention are the sequences. We use an abandoned cart sequence that is converting very high as well as a sequence that asks for reviews from our customers 7 days after a purchase.

Inconvénients:

The only thing I would like to see is an app or better mobile web design. The mobile web page is hard to navigate at times.

Commentaires: We are using Emotive to help with our customer service experience and overall marketing efforts. We're very excited to use this both to help drive sales and also improve conversion rates.

Avantages:

The ease of use is extremely impressive and makes me even more eager to use the platform. I love the UX/UI of the Emotive platform and how responsive it is, both with the set up and visually with the Conversation builder.

Inconvénients:

So far, I don't have anything that could be improved. The only thing that would come to mind, if I had to pick, would be Wise Pops built into the Emotive dashboard so it's not two separate log ins, but honestly, that's not a big deal to me at all. I have nothing bad to say!

Scammers - stay away

Commentaires: They charged me for a bunch of unsent SMS campaigns - I lost thousands of revenue from their ability to not deliver on big sales and product launch days. Instead of apologies they are not refunding the money to me. Again no texts were sent, they are charging as though they were and not refunding me. It's been months of back and forth emails and thousands of dollars lost. LOOK ELSEWHERE - IT A SCAM

Commentaires: I have never had an experience like this! Since canceling service as it was too expensive and being told many times I would not be billed again, there billing department keeps trying to charge me. I told them we have had a difficult year and they are relentlessly trying to keep billing me and don’t care. There service was removed from my site and has not been used or logged into for months. Multiple emails with this company and they keep charging! If I knew this was what they would be like I would never have started with them.

Avantages:

There interface with sending SMS marketing is good but there are more affordable options.

Inconvénients:

Way to expensive. After the initial setup and use of credits the bill got huge. They tracked conversions from other sources and clamed that they were converted due to there software.

Commentaires: The integration was a little tricky and took longer than what we would've planned, but the Emotive team worked hard to assess the problems and find a solution.
Our customer success manager, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], has been wonderful to work with and always provides me with answers and insight right away. I've also enjoyed working with the copywriting team. They get back to me right away with suggestions and revisions that fall in line with their best practices.

Avantages:

The broadcasts are so easy to set-up and schedule!

Inconvénients:

Would like to feel more confident in organizing keywords and utilizing all aspects of Emotive. Right now, we're only doing limited broadcast message.

Commentaires: I was leery of Emotive at first due to a very poor experience with another advertising provider where we received little to no assistance and struggled to get anyone to respond- yet they had no trouble taking our payment each month. Our experience with Emotive couldn't be more different. Our rep, Ciara, has been amazing with response, truly cares about our account and has worked with us to make the best plan for our business and our customers - not just what will benefit Emotive. I couldn't recommend it more!

Avantages:

Emotive provides the ability to directly and quickly interact with our customers on a more personal level. We use Emotive not only to aid in sales conversion but as a customer service response tool as well. This allows us to seamlessly help our customers without complicating their process to contact us. It also affords us the opportunity to foster relationship by sending broadcasts of holiday well wishes and thanks vs strictly sales messages. Customers often respond with pictures of themselves using the products and with comments that feel more friend like. We hope to build upon this relational messaging year over year.

Inconvénients:

The automated response feature can be hard to navigate but is improving.

Commentaires: No app/software can ever be perfect or have everything. what's important is to have a support team who will hear you out and help you with any issues. Not only Emotive has the best support team but, also they always trying to improve and keep asking you for feedback which is kinda great.

Avantages:

This Is not just another SMS marketing platform but, its loaded with all the automation you want for your business. Right from the beginning, the onboarding team did everything for us and got this running in no time. Plus, they assign you a dedicated manager who will look after your marketing strategies etc. This premium feature is worth the price we pay for this. I am always in search of apps/softwares with automation. Makes the task easier and takes less number of people to manage this. Its easy to manage and can even run on its own If you know how to schedule the campaigns. Initially, I was hesitant about the pricing structure. It looked expensive but, compared to the apps we used earlier which was all "pay per use",the billing was almost the same. Make sure you do the math, and discuss with the sales before you sign up.

Inconvénients:

The conversation module can be improved and connected to the support ticket system instead of having the team member login just to respond to customer messages. Raised this issue and they are working on this.

No longer a good service . Overpriced and overcharged

Commentaires: If you want to be charged thousands of dollars for no reason, by all means sign up for Emotive. Things started out OK as we were dealing with good people who seemed to care if the brand was successful on their platform but over time that shifted to money hungry people who wanted to get us to send as many messages as possible with no regard for ROI (which was severely lacking). The last few months they have taken to arbitrarily adding charges to our bill and refusing to refund them. They have now overcharged me by $1300 in the last 45 days. We also had broadcasts that were set to go at a particular time that instead were sent at odd hours. This pissed off our customers and we were still required to pay for those messages.We did change providers and were told by the new provider that the Emotive customers are dropping like flies . Emotive continues to charge me even though we changed providers. They laid off all of the people we liked too. Bad company, dirty practices.

Avantages:

very little. The platform has b en edits but the dishonesty of the company overshadows anything good they have

The Worst Customer Experience of My Entire Life as a Business Owner

Commentaires: Emotive is hands down, bar none, the worst company I've ever had the pleasure of working with/being stuck in a contract with. I've never been treated so horribly by a company, let alone one that I paid over $100k to. They do not care about their customers AT ALL, all they care about is collecting their next monthly payment. They also implement policies that are borderline illegal, or have become illegal since after they implemented these policies. For example, they will auto renew your annual contract, one worth $40,000+, without a single notification, email, or confirmation that this is happening. Which is considered illegal now, but unfortunately it became law after my contract renewal. I reached out one week after it was renewed stating that I did not want to renew my contract, and Emotive told me nope, we'll be collecting our $40,000 no matter what, even though what we did is now illegal, it wasn't at the time. Also, the clause in my contract about renewal WASNT EVEN IN THE CONTRACT. The contact had a small link to "additional terms", in which the auto renewal without notification terms were buried. Again, this one is borderline illegal and definitely unethical, and by design. And they stated that they'd rather get lawyers involved than let me cancel my contract because I missed the cancel deadline by 5 days. On top of that, they charge more for inferior tech than their competitors. If you're considered Emotive, run for the hills, please. This is a horrible, horrible comp

Nothing. Texting is a very basic service, all they do is blast a 160 characters to your list. They bring nothing special to the table in regard to shit

Inconvénients:

They DO NOT care about you and will enact shady practices in order to squeeze as much money out of you as possible before you inevitably switch to a better service

Deceptive contract and sales rep - no cancellation clause in contract

Commentaires: They most unethical, and dishonest company I've ever worked with. A complete scam. What kind of company doesn't have a cancellation clause in their contract? No semi-competent lawyer would simple "forget" to include a cancellation clause. And you know it was intentional because, even upon request, they wouldn't provide one. AFTER THE FACT. BEWARE! To this day, they won't agree to cancel my contract despite providing little to no support and have SO MANY ISSUES. I have nothing but regret.

Avantages:

I liked the "conversational" aspect that if offered and that they supposedly had "shopping experts" that would respond to any response a customer could give. This is false advertizing and also extremly misleading. The sales rep actually lied to our face about this one. There is literally an automation that you're supposed to populate with responses that you expect, there are no "shopping experts". It's a lie. If the automation can't handle it, then it goes to zednesk or your ticket system.

Inconvénients:

Everything. They lied about what's in the contracts. They left stuff off the contracts (and deliberatly lied on the sales calls) about the fee structure. - They left a cancellation clause out of the year contract "accidentally" - They left the part where there is a $500 minimum out of the contract (but still billed my payment method for it despite the repeated chargebacks) - They left out a Carrier fee which was around $100 for my place. I assure you, that you will get scammed. Stay far far away!

Avantages:

It worked at a basic level of mass texting a list of subscribers - the bare minimum of any such service.

Inconvénients:

They were unable to ever integrate with Woocommerce in the way we most needed - a text reminder for abandoned carts. A promise of a service they never kept. We stayed with them for a year, aware of that contractual obligation, only to fine that it auto-renewed without notice and we were repeatedly denied cancelation. I am currently still paying for their overly-expensive service for an additional year also paying for a better priced service that actually works as needed.

Commentaires: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!We have had 3 very serious issues with this company1. They initially encouraged emoji use and did not clarify EVERY emoji was billed as an MMS, essentially quadrupling what we thought we were spending. Did nothing to rectify the situation for us but finally added something showing how they’re charged2. We were not happy with the service as we constantly kept have what felt like sneaky charges being added. We also found a cheaper more known brand that consolidated sms and email. They basically would not allow us to cancel essentially slashing rates to nothing to keep us. This pissed me off that we’d been so screwed on prosing for the past year. Also they forced us to keep our contract the remaining 10 months paying $200/month. (Annoying but I should have been more diligent understanding our contract).3. THEN 6 months into entirely not using the service they charge me a random $20 for a “carrier fee” and have absolutely refused to refund. Emotive is a scam or desperate for cash. Either way stay far, far away. So many reputable companies with better pricing.

Avantages:

I've had a great overall experience with emotive as far as success with our customers. Emotive offered a unique way to have conversations at scale with our customers. We have been able to build out robust flows that give every customer a very personalize experience that adds value and I love emotive for that.

Inconvénients:

We had a lot of flaws along the way that caused a lot of trouble for us internally. This is mainly pertaining to their human handoff team, who is not trained well enough to take on highly personalized conversations. No option to turn off. Limited segmentation as well - and very slow delivery for the messages during high volume times.

I look forward to my weekly calls with Leslie to bounce ideas off each other. They are ridiculously friendly and easy to work with on projects. We love this platform and company!

Avantages:

I love that the SMS marketing tool is designed to send text without being too abrupt and salesy but more like a text from your friend. Love how easy it is to use the tool.

Inconvénients:

The analytics. I would like to see more metrics on how we performed for each broadcast for that specific one we sent, not how Emotive have generally lead to the conversion overall. Sometimes the numbers are way off and I see that a broadcast would make over $5k but in reality we haven't even made that much in a day.

Amazing Service

Commentaires: The amazing thing is all the support you will receive. From monthly phone call check-ins to help setting up a new account. My business prides itself in responsiveness and customer support, and Emotive clearly has this as a top priority as well

Avantages:

Honestly, I love just about everything about Emotive software. The team at emotive is extremely supportive when setting up a new account. It is a super user-friendly platform to get going with the basics from day one. I love how simple it is to set up a broadcast and segment different lists based on users' actions (purchases, etc.)

Inconvénients:

I have not jumped into the AI feature much of setting up interactive automotive responses to capture segmented data. I also wish there was a chrome extension or an app for slack that would update me when a text message came through. An easier way to respond to people interacting with our brands would be helpful.

Commentaires: In addition to the problems above, Emotive stores our payment information without our authorization. Having been alerted by us, they removed our credit card information once but later continued to store the new payment info without our authorization. They initiated the charges whenever they wanted, even if we kept trying to dispute them. Horrible experience!

Avantages:

SMS marketing is unique and relevantly new, but I would suggest using other solutions instead of Emotive.

Inconvénients:

Their sales team is not ethical. When they sold us the service, the salesperson kept saying that we can cancel any month. However, the actual situation is that we can cancel any month AS LONG AS WE PAY THE REST OF THE 12 MONTHS. Make sure you read the terms very carefully. It's referring to a different webpage hosted on their website, which is subject to change anytime.

Commentaires: My experience is very positive it made up 2% of our business last year and our goal is to grow it to 5%

Avantages:

in 2021 in beyond I believe that conversational tones through SMS is what's really going to drive sales. When customers feel like they're being spoken to instead of spoken "AT" we all win. Emotive allows me to build a better more exclusive relationship with customers of my brand.

Inconvénients:

For me its the character count, with a limited about of characters sometimes it can be very hard to get a message across to the customer.

Abusive Contract Terms That Take Advantage of Small Businesses

Commentaires: Worst customer assistance I have received in my life. Extremely unprofessional.

Avantages:

The service is easy to use however you need Wisepops configuration which on average slows your website down considerably. It does what it says it does, however there are much cheaper alternatives on the market. A word of caution is that not all segments and demographics respond well to text, and would not recommend it for an audience under 35 years old.

Inconvénients:

I am extremely disappointed with Emotive's procedures and ability to help customers. Their contract is a one-year term that cannot be cancelled outside of its renewal, which is extremely predatory given the decreased success and increased competition in text marketing. Their team is extremely unprofessional. Beware their pricing model- apparently, they have close to 250 different combinations of pricing available. Meaning that when you ask for help, you will hear about 3 different things. They refuse to be held accountable to the insight they have given customers. Extremely disappointing.
